Michell Engineering Turntable Rega Record Clamp Black or Silver Top

Summary:

Special Rega version of the Michell Record clamp as the normal one does not fit Rega turntables.
Machined from a solid block of Anodised aluminium.
This Clamp has an ‘ R ‘ stamped onto it.
The difference is the clamp spindle hole is deeper allowing for a perfect fit with your Rega.

Compatibility: This clamp is suitable for straight sided spindles measuring 5 – 6 mm WHEN THE RECORD IS IN PLACE excluding any taper. It is NOT suitable for threaded spindles such as the Michell Orbe. Please measure accurately prior to purchase.

This Michell Turntable Clamp has been specially designed to fit turntables with the shorter 5mm spindle and many Rega models, including the Planar 2, Planar 3, P2, P3 P5 and P25, as well as some third-party turntables. A clamp compatible with Michell turntables and standard 6.5mm and over spindles is also available from AudioZomba.

The Michell Rega Turntable Clamp is the special Rega version of the Michell clamp as the normal one does not fit Rega turntables and this version has an ‘ R ‘ stamped onto it, it fits most Rega Turntables and is machined from a solid block of Anodised aluminium. Please measure before you purchase.

Modern vinyl records are thin, flexible and often warped or bowed. As most records do not lie flat on the turntable platter, sound reproduction suffers due to un-damped vinyl resonances caused by the stylus riding on an unsupported record. Records which are bowed downwards contact the platter at the outer edge but not in middle. Conversely, records that are warped or bowed upwards tend to rock on the platter. In these instances anti-skating compensation is less effective and record wear is increased substantially by the lateral or vertical see-saw motion of the tonearm/cartridge combination
