Michell Engineering Turntable Record Clamp Black or Silver Top
Summary:
- Standard fit 6.5mm version of the Michell Record clamp
- Machined from a solid block of Anodised aluminium.
- Alleviates anti skating compensation
IMPORTANT: READ BEFORE YOU BUY!!
Compatibility: This Standard (not Rega) clamp is suitable for straight sided spindles measuring 6.5 mm or more WHEN THE RECORD IS IN PLACE excluding any taper. It is NOT suitable for threaded spindles such as the Michell Orbe. Please measure accurately prior to purchase.
Also Available from AudioZomba – Special Rega 5mm Spindle version. See our other listings. The Michell Rega Turntable Clamp is the special Rega version of the Michell clamp as the normal one does not fit Rega turntables and this version has an ‘ R ‘ stamped onto it, it fits most Rega Turntables.

Modern vinyl records are thin, flexible and often warped or bowed. As most records do not lie flat on the turntable platter, sound reproduction suffers due to un-damped vinyl resonances caused by the stylus riding on an unsupported record. Records which are bowed downwards contact the platter at the outer edge but not in middle. Conversely, records that are warped or bowed upwards tend to rock on the platter. In these instances anti-skating compensation is less effective and record wear is increased substantially by the lateral or vertical see-saw motion of the tonearm/cartridge combination
